We regret to inform you that Rafael Arjona has resigned from his position as Residence Director at Fairmont Mayakoba Heritage Place effective May 31, 2021, to continue his career. Rafael has been part of the Fairmont family since 2008 and was promoted as Residence Director on January 15, 2015, bringing extensive hospitality experience to Fairmont Mayakoba Heritage Place.

“It was an honor to have been part of the Homeowner’s Association. During my time here, I have been able to accomplish many tasks that have benefited the community. I am proud to have worked alongside all the members, and I reassure the relationship we have formed”, says Rafael.

During his final two weeks, Rafael will be transferring his responsibilities to Erick Viera, currently Director of Revenue at Fairmont Mayakoba. Erick Viera has an extensive career at Fairmont Mayakoba and held several progressive positions at the hotel, amongst others 2 years at the reception as director of the front office, 6 years in Finance, including as the director of finance for the golf here at Mayakoba, almost 2 years in Food & Beverage Operations and the last 4 years strategically forwarded our revenue management department for both the hotel and recently for Fairmont Heritage Place

Erick will be responsible for the overall operations, performance, and strategic direction at Fairmont Mayakoba Heritage Place and, as such, will work in close collaboration with both of us.

“I am thankful for this opportunity and look forward to further enhance the growth of Fairmont Mayakoba Heritage Place along with long-lasting relationships with our residents and owners,” says Erick.

While we will miss Rafael’s valuable contributions and dedication, we wish him the very best in his new adventure.
