Fairmont Mayakoba is the New Kid on the Block, again!
With a resort-wide renovation now complete, the Fairmont Mayakoba is ready to show off its new makeover in time for the peak winter season. The extensive project left no stone unturned in transforming this legendary resort into one of the most innovative resort sanctuaries in the Riviera Maya and a perfect choice for couples, families, groups, and incentives.

The multi-million-dollar project included a complete renovation of all guest rooms, casitas, and suites bringing guests a new level of comfort and sophistication to Mayakoba. The project also included an overhaul of all restaurants and bars, the resort’s three beach pools, main pool, reception area, and lobby. The existing kids’ club received a full makeover, and a new second kids’ club was added. Plus, the resort unveiled two exciting new dining outlets in the main resort area and an exclusive new beach club featuring five new dining outlets.
The crown jewel of renewal project is Maykana, the resorts breathtaking new beach club which brings guests an elevated ocean front experience set in a contemporary atmosphere with sweeping ocean views. “May” (from the Mayan culture) represents the resorts’ desire to surround guests with local history and culture through the five elements of nature integrated into the beach club which are air, water, fire, earth and aether. “Kana” (basket in Mayan language) represents the basket that ties these elements together. Through Maykana, Fairmont has created a “welcome basket” representing a home away from home.

Maykana’s grand terraces, private luxury cabanas, sunken fire pits, and seaside pools bring a sophisticated flair to beachfront relaxation and resort dining. The beach club’s new food and beverage outlets include Mediterranean influenced Brisas, the element of air in Maykana. Surrounded with private pool-side cabanas Aqua brings the element of water and specializes in Latin-influenced cocktails by day. Fuego brings the element of fire to Maykana and is a Tulum inspired dining experience that captures an energetic yet bohemian feel. Gaia Seafood Restaurant, Maykana’s signature restaurant, brings the element of the earth to the beach club featuring a variety of fresh, local seafood from Mexico and all over the world. Finally, Cielo Rooftop Bar brings the element of aether to Maykana and is the beach club’s adults only upbeat lounge. Each unique new venue at Maykana offers an exquisite culinary experience as well as stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.

Meanwhile, the main resort area now features two exciting new culinary experiences. La Laguna is Fairmont Mayakoba’s newest venue for creatively prepared Mexican cuisine. Here, talented chefs combine traditional with contemporary, which is also reflected in the design of this lively restaurant. Guests of La Laguna will be surrounded by stunning art, colorful fabrics, and a magnificent bar inspired by Mexican culture. La Laguna also features an open concept kitchen, an al fresco terrace, and a lively lounge. The space is complete with a terrace and private pavilion, and decks overlooking the Mayakoba water canals where guests enjoy authentic recipes bursting with flavor and craft cocktails.
Bassano, a stylish Italian eatery, brings an element of comfort to Mayakoba. Bassano focuses on the simplest of ingredients – egg, flour, and water – while delivering rich flavor in every dish. The restaurant’s standout menu items include homemade pizzas, their signature bucatini cacio e pepe, and exquisite wines. Complete with a beautifully designed outdoor pizza bar and oven, Bassano is a true standout on property and the hospitality and ingredient-driven menu keep guests coming back for more.

Everywhere you look, have a surreal encounter with nature in a mystical jungle.
