La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in Fairmont Mayakoba

Are you passionate about food and good wine? This may interest you.

An old French royal brotherhood of goose roasters, La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is the oldest gastronomic association in the world. According to history, King Louis IX was so afraid of being poisoned that the fraternity of the Rôtisseurs was created to taste the dishes and wine in his presence before he ate them. The Rôtisseurs in full knowledge that they could be poisoned at any moment decided to taste and enjoy the best dishes and the best wine and here the birth of tasting and gastronomy. Therefore, the brotherhood was founded in the year 1248, with its international headquarters in the city of Paris.

Years have passed and the way dinners are made have changed. However, today this brotherhood shares the same values around quality, good gastronomy, support for the culinary arts and the pleasures of good food. It currently has more than 25,000 members around the world in more than 80 countries.

The ultimate goal of the International Gastronomy Association is to stimulate different cultures in the presentation and preparation of food and wine. Bring together amateurs and professionals from all over the world, such as hoteliers, restaurateurs, chefs or sommeliers, around an appreciation for fine cuisine.

Belonging to the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs means being part of an international network that shares tastes for good food and being welcome to any establishment or group dinner all over the world.
