Make the world a better place on World Ocean Day! You can celebrate and take action for our shared ocean, which connects us all. Get together with your family, community, and /or your company, and join with millions of others around the planet to start creating a better future. At Fairmont Mayakoba, we will commemorate this day by creating a variety of activities in our first Reef Week. Join us from Friday 4 to Tuesday 8! Enjoy daily Beach Experiences, Water Canal Experiences, Kids Club Activities, and the Photograph Expo.
Beach Experiences

Workshop
This activity on the beach is open to guests. You will appreciate a floating space with royal colonies, where you will learn about the Coral Reef Restoration Program. It will continue as a weekly clinic to offer throughout the year.
Also, you will have the opportunity to personalize a coral reef base!

Snorkel
In this activity you will learn about the ecosystem and restoration program on the way to the site, where you will see the team of biologists “in action” carrying out the colony seeding process.
• 10:00 am – Snorkel over Mayakoba Reef
• 2:30 pm – Snorkel over Maroma
• 45 mins – 60 mins
• 5 USD additional donation at activity price

Diving
In this activity you will learn about the ecosystem and restoration program on the way to the site, where you will see the team of biologists “in action” carrying out the colony seeding process.
• 11:30 am Brain Dive

• Include seeding of 1 – 2 colonies

Planting Coral Colonies
The team of Oceanus biologists will be carrying out continuous colony planting during reef week, visiting the nurseries in Mayakoba to take fragments and transplant them into the Mayakoba, Cerebro, and Maroma reef.
• Goal 500 colonies planted
• Own equipment: Boat, tanks, crew
• They will be planting colonies according to the schedules of water activities
• Staff in diving center to promote program and answer questions
Water Canal Experiences

Boat Tour
Discover the beauty of Mayakoba and enjoy a bird watching tour where you will saw the variety of birds and marine life, and the biologists will explain mangroves and ecosystems.
Relax, feel the breeze, enjoy the beautiful warm weather, and learn about nature!

Kayaks
Enjoy a canal tour in Kayaks!

Sports
