At Fairmont Mayakoba, women lead the way to being named one of the top companies to work for

Fairmont Mayakoba has recently been recognized as one of the top companies for women to work for by Expansión magazine and TOP Companies. Fairmont was ranked #5 of the top 50 companies in Mexico with 500 – 3,000 employees and was also one of the only hospitality companies named in the top 50 list.

Expansión is a Spanish-language news magazine targeting business markets in Mexico and Latin America. TOP Companies is a Mexico-based consulting company that focuses on assisting organizations in strengthening their business culture and creating a supportive and empowering environment for a company’s employees. The methodology used by Expansión and TOP Companies to select and rank the top 50 companies is based on three distinct and equally weighted criteria.

  1. Women-related benefits (33%): The delivery of policies, practices, and human resources programs related to women is evaluated. Topics such as social responsibility, working conditions, temporary work organization, fairness, compensation and benefits, organizational cohesion, satisfaction, productivity support conditions, and leadership are considered. If a company has all of these, it will obtain 100 points.
  2. Employee survey approval (33%): The maximum score to obtain is 100 approval points, based on the survey responses from women in managerial positions up to the director level.
  3. Presence of women leaders in management positions (33%): Companies are awarded 100 points for having female CEOs, 30% for female directors, and 40% for female managers and assistant directors, with the percentages descending proportionally to reach a total of 100 points.

This prestigious honor is a testament to Fairmont Mayakoba’s ongoing commitment to creating a workplace environment that is inclusive, supportive, and empowering for all of its employees. Management at every level of the resort understands that diversity and inclusion are essential to the success of a company, and they are deeply committed to providing equal opportunities for all of their team members. Being recognized for these efforts is very welcoming and the luxury resort looks forward to continuing to support gender equality within the company, the hospitality industry, and in the wider community.

Of course, this recognition is also a testament to the hardworking women at Fairmont Mayakoba who always go above and beyond to provide every guest with an extraordinary resort experience. From management, housekeeping, food & beverage, front office, activities, and everything in between, the women of Mayakoba truly embody the “Mujeres Fuertes” (strong women) spirit of Mexico!
